After Rosé released her solo album last year, only three members of BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) remain to release their respective solo albums this year before reuniting for the group’s comeback. Now with full creative control over their solo projects, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé have shown fans sides of themselves they never had the chance to before.
Unlike her members, Jisoo (김지수) has yet to release any new music but since January, the idol has been teasing fans about her upcoming album. “AMORTAGE” is set for release on 14th February, so here’s everything we know about the record so far:
1. The album will have 4 tracks
Unlike her bandmates, Jisoo decided to release a mini album rather than a full-length project. This is likely due to her balancing acting gigs with working on her music. Regardless, the record will serve its purpose of teasing fans with what they can expect from Jisoo. “AMORTAGE” will have a total of 4 tracks which are: “Earthquake”, “Your Love”, “Tears”, and “Hugs & Kisses”.
2. All songs were co-written by Jisoo
With full creative freedom over her music, Jisoo has writing credits in all her songs on “AMORTAGE”. The singer’s first writing credits were BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” and “Yeah Yeah Yeah”.
3. The album’s name is a portmanteau
Fans were intrigued by the album’s title. Although she did not provide an explicit explanation, Jisoo offered hints about its meaning. Based on one of her Instagram posts, “AMORTAGE” appears to be a portmanteau of the Latin word “amor” (meaning “love”) and “montage”, which reflects the record’s themes of “the emotional stages of love and the defining moments of a relationship.”
4. Jisoo launched a mobile app

In addition to the forthcoming album, the BLACKPINK member has also launched a mobile app, which is available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The new app will function as a newsletter to keep fans updated on the idol’s upcoming projects and activities.
5. Jisoo signed a deal with Warner Records
Following in the footsteps of her fellow members, Jisoo has also signed a deal with an international label in preparation for the release of her album. As for why she chose Warner Records, fans have suggested that it could be because the label is renowned for its music distribution. In other words, the company will ensure that the singer’s music reaches every corner of the globe — a smart strategic move on her part.
