The long-awaited Chinese coffeehouse chain, Luckin Coffee (瑞幸咖啡), will finally make its way to Malaysian shores in 2025! This comes after the subsidiary of Malaysia-listed Hextar Industries Bhd, Global Aroma Sdn Bhd (GASB), has signed an agreement with Luckin Coffee Holding Singapore Pte Ltd. “This is to allow Malaysians to have a modern coffee experience,” said Hextar Industries in a statement on Friday.

The collaboration allows GASB to develop, open, and operate coffee shops under the well-known Luckin Coffee brand nationwide. The partnership marks a pivotal step for the company as it focuses on rapidly expanding the world’s fastest-growing coffee brand. According to reports, GASB plans to launch several Luckin Coffee outlets across Malaysia by the first quarter of 2025.

According to Eddie Ong, a major shareholder of Hextar Industries, “The partnership with Luckin Coffee unlocks new growth opportunities and marks a significant milestone for Hextar Industries.” He also aims to replicate the success by increasing the business across the country. This would help the F&B market in Malaysia, as the outlets can bring Luckin Coffee’s innovative, technology-driven coffee experience to Malaysian consumers.

Luckin Coffee is loved by many, Chinese and Singaporeans alike, not only because of the ease of accessibility to the beverage but also due to its affordability. For instance, in Singapore, the price range of a cup of Luckin Coffee is only around S$5-S$8 (approximately RM16 to RM25), making it the perfect go-to in the morning for the locals.

Since Malaysians tend to spend a lot on coffee, we’re sure Luckin Coffee will be off to a good start in this country. If the local outlets follow the Chinese pricing, the drinks might also be affordable, marking another plus. So, be sure to get your hands on them once they’re out!
