Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau (刘德华) successfully ended his four-day concert at Axiata Arena last Sunday (27th October 2024) as part of his “Today … Is The Day (今天…is the Day)” tour. Thousands of fans attended the final show, including Hong Kong actor Philip Keung (姜皓文) and his wife Anna Kam (殷宁) – who both received a special shout-out from the singer.
According to reports, Philip and Anna attended the show on the 27th to celebrate their birthday and wedding anniversary. The couple’s special days fall on back-to-back dates in October – Anna’s 55th birthday was on the 24th, the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary was on the 25th, and Philip’s 58th birthday was on the 26th.
As a gift to his “Shock Wave (拆彈專家)” co-star, Andy dedicated two songs to Philip and Anna to commemorate their birthday and anniversary, singing “Secret Admiration (暗里著迷)” and “My Beloved (心肝宝贝)”. In addition, the singer also got the crowd to join him in singing “Happy Birthday” to the couple. Philip was touched by the gesture, even standing up to shout his gratitude for the 63-year-old.
In an interview with news outlets, Philip said, “Seeing Brother Wah (Andy’s nickname) in concert was already a great birthday gift. It’s also my first time watching a concert in Malaysia. I didn’t expect there to be so many surprises.” The actor also revealed that “Secret Admiration” was his favourite Andy Lau song, so having it dedicated to him made it more special. He also said he was very grateful for the gifts and hopes to see Andy on stage again in Hong Kong.
On the same note, Andy spoke about his four sold-out shows in Malaysia, expressing his gratitude to his fans and staff. He said, “Whether it’s the audience or the staff in front of and behind the stage, I thank everyone for their love and support. I’ll see you at the next stop.” The singer will perform in Taiwan later this week, marking his first show there in over a decade.
We’d like to belatedly congratulate Philip and Anna on their birthdays and wedding anniversary. We’re sure receiving the dedications from Andy Lau made the celebrations even more special.
