Inflation is a real problem that citizens are forced to face everyday. It’s amazing how something that used to be extremely affordable can become crazy expensive in just the blink of an eye.
Recently, a woman on Facebook was brought to shock when she found out she paid RM10 for a 1.25 litre bottle of mineral water at a restaurant in Lukut, Port Dickson. She shared her experience on social media, questioning how it was possible for water to cost that much. She expressed how flabbergasted she was with the pricing, especially since the original amount before she mentioned it to the owner was RM12. “A bottle of mineral water for RM12, I was so shocked. I told the owner, it doesn’t even cost RM10 in other stores.“.

According to her, the owner didn’t even know the cost of mineral waters, and it was their staffs that convinced them to put the expensive price since it was of a good brand. However, after the owner had the conversation with the woman, they reduced the price to RM10, which is still a lot for a bottle of mineral water.
Netizens shared their thoughts in the comment section, with speculations that the restaurant may be selling Evian branded mineral waters. Per contra of the Evian claims, the picture posted by the woman shows a uniquely shaped plastic bottle, which resembled the bottles from the famous drinking brand Spritzer.

In a more recent report, it seems that the police and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living stopped by this restaurant for an inspection. Following the visit, the diner has been hit with a RM200 compound for the ridiculous pricing.
