Concert Review: THE BOYZ Energised KL & Stole The Spotlight—Literally

Kuala Lumpur witnessed an explosive night as THE BOYZ (더보이즈) brought their 3rd World Tour, “THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: ZENERATION II,” to the Mega Star Arena. The highly anticipated concert lived up to the hype, delivering high-energy performances, fan interactions, and even a few unexpected surprises.

From the moment the members stepped onto the stage, dressed in chic all-white ensembles, their energy was undeniable. Opening with fan-favourites like “Diamond Life”, “Out of Control”, and “MAVERICK”, they immediately set the tone for the night. The crowd, dressed predominantly in red and black, erupted into cheers, with fans singing along passionately to every lyric. The excitement in the room was electric, reflecting the group’s commanding stage presence and impeccable choreography.

Their second set brought a darker vibe as the members appeared in sleek black outfits, intensifying the performance with tracks like “TATTOO”, “Levitating”, “Back All Black”, and “Breaking Dawn”. Each song was delivered with a powerful edge, leaving the audience in awe of their versatility and stamina.

In a complete shift, the stage transformed into a summer pool party, and THE BOYZ adapted with vibrant costumes to match the fun atmosphere. Hits like “Complete Me”, “Fantasize”, “Right Here”, “THRILL RIDE”, and “D.D.D” injected fresh energy into the arena, as the group’s playful side emerged. The joy was contagious, with the members feeding off the crowd’s enthusiasm, making this segment a true highlight of the night.

One of the most memorable moments came when the group slowed things down with emotional tracks like “Back 2 U” and “Hurt Me Less”. Dressed in white and beige outfits, THE BOYZ performed under the glow of pink LED lights held up by fans, which twinkled like stars across the arena. Moved by the touching display, rapper Sunwoo (선우) remarked, “I haven’t seen such a beautiful thing in a long time, it’s like a ring of candy lights,” adding a sentimental touch to an already heartfelt performance.

As the night drew closer to its conclusion, the group returned to black outfits to deliver hard-hitting performances of “Bite Back”, “REVEAL”, “The Stealer”, and “WATCH IT”, showing no signs of slowing down. Their energy remained infectious, and the crowd responded with matching intensity.

However, the final act of the night introduced an unexpected twist. Clad in casual jeans and ZENERATION II merch shirts, the members returned for a closing farewell, but the spotlights failed, plunging the stage into darkness. The power outage sparked a moment of confusion, with the group attempting to sing Happy Birthday to Hyunjae (현재) amidst the technical difficulties. “Well, this is awkward,” one member quipped, lightening the mood.

Just as fans were being told to leave, the lights suddenly returned, and the members came back out to give a proper goodbye. With the mics working again, THE BOYZ took the opportunity to thank their dedicated fans, who had waited so long for this tour stop.

Despite the hiccups, the concert was a testament to THE BOYZ’s professionalism and their ability to keep the energy high, even in the face of technical issues. Their dynamic performances and deep connection with the audience made for an unforgettable night in Kuala Lumpur, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their next return.

We hope to catch their next concert and we’re confident that it’ll be as magnificent as all their other shows.
