Over the past few months, many Hong Kong celebrities have visited Malaysia for work and holidays. Most recently, actors Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Carlos Chan (黃宗澤) were here for a movie press tour, while actors Owen Cheung (张振朗) and Jazz Lam (林子善) were spotted in a bak kut teh restaurant in KL. One big who recently joined the list was actor and TVB’s general manager, Eric Tsang (曾志伟).
A XiaoHongShu user recently shared that she had coincidentally met Eric at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). It is believed the netizen is a foreigner who had recently arrived in Malaysia for a holiday. In her post, the user wrote, “I met Eric Tsang in Kuala Lumpur”, along with a photo of her posing beside the celebrity. However, according to media sources, the user had a previous version of her post in which she mentioned why Eric was in KL and how he travelled to the country.

According to the netizen, Eric is currently in Malaysia to film for an upcoming movie. It is presumed the movie mentioned is a Lunar New Year movie project set to release in early 2025. The 71-year-old previously confirmed his participation in the project, but there is not much information regarding the movie. The XiaoHongShu user also noted that Eric arrived in Malaysia alone, without an assistant or a staff member, showing his surprising independence despite being a well-known star.
Eric’s arrival in KLIA was also fresh off his appearance at the opening ceremony for the Hong Kong branch of the Chinese online media firm Three Sheep Holding. The star is now the regional head of Three Sheep, the parent company of the high-profile live-streaming company, “Crazy Little Young Brothers”. The veteran star also co-hosted one of the company’s recent live streams, garnering tons of views with his appearance. The move is said to expand the media mogul’s reach into the lucrative world of e-commerce and solidify his position in the online influencer marketing industry.

It seems Eric Tsang has a lot on his plate, from being TVB’s general manager to becoming Sanzhiyang’s regional boss – all while still being active as an actor. Nevertheless, we hope he has a good time in Malaysia, and we hope to hear more about his movie soon.
