While she had her fair share of controversy, there’s no denying that local entrepreneur Dato Seri Vida, a.k.a DSV, is a woman with many talents. However, the public figure recently shocked her fans after showing off her Mandarin-speaking skills while tending to a customer.
Dato Seri Vida recently posted a video on her TikTok account that shows her interacting with a Chinese customer at a food and beverage expo in Sabah. In the video, the businesswoman asked the customer where she came from and how she knew about her booth at the expo. However, what surprised netizens was that Dato Seri Vida spoke with the customer entirely in Mandarin, without a translator.
Many netizens have since reacted to the video, saying they were impressed to learn that Dato Seri Vida can speak Mandarin. Many also praised the public figure for using her language skills to attract customers and promote her products. However, some quipped that she should’ve given the customer a discount since she showed her business so much support.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the entrepreneur has shown off her linguistic skills. In May, Dato Seri Vida garnered social media attention for speaking Mandarin to staff at a Louis Vuitton store in China. Following the viral clip, influencer Ceddy Ang revealed that the Qu Puteh founder learned the language during her stint as a teacher at a Chinese school.
According to an interview, Dato Seri Vida taught at the Poi Lam Primary School (SJK (C) Poi Lam) in Perak for 12 years, during which she acquired the skills to speak Mandarin through daily conversation.
Once again, Dato Seri Vida surprises the public with her many skills and talents. We wonder what other hidden knowledge the entrepreneur has under her sleeve. Watch the video below:
