Whenever a celebrity reaches a particular level of fame, it is common to find elaborate rumours of themselves. In correlation to that, a few members of notable K-pop boy group NCT (엔시티) have found themselves embroiled in troubling news. This has led to SM Entertainment personally addressing the issue.
Earlier this week, a Twitter user who is known for posting updates on Japan’s nightlife made a revelation where NCT (엔시티) members, Haechan (해찬) and Johnny (쟈니) were accused of sleeping around with fans during the group’s trip to Japan for the Unity concert. The story stretched further as supposed evidence was leaked by said fans. Here’s the scoop:

According to the sources leaked by the girls, they initially received an anonymous request through their “Teco” service app. In Japan, “Teco” app is a platform where men request for girls to come over for drinks and sexual favours. Thus, upon arriving and meeting their clients, one of the girls found out it was the said NCT members, leading her to post an Instagram story with the caption, “It turned out to be Johnny and Haechan LOL. I’m going to die.”
The girls then elaborated on how they actually slept with the members and even provided several pictures of a hotel room key and bottles of alcohol to prove that they actually met up. One of the girls involved even mocked the sasaeng seen in front of NCT’s hotel, stating “I’m really sorry, but while you guys were waiting there, I had Johnny and Haechan sleeping with me.”

With the amount of evidence accumulating, it instantly caught the attention of the general public including SM Entertainment, having them release an official statement. As seen below, the agency denied the following rumours, claiming them as an act to purposely tarnish the artists’ reputation. They also mentioned that they have collected data and are planning to take action against the girls.
Other than that, this matter caused an uproar across all social platforms with fans enraged over the news, believing that the girls did it out of obsession. A few netizens were confused as to how this surfaces as the timing is considerably random. However, most netizens were glad to know that SM Entertainment is actually taking a step to protect their artists.

Aside from that, several revelations on Twitter claimed that the girls have a history of meeting up with other NCT members in the past, stating they’re close friends. Despite the claims, there is no solid evidence of the girls actually befriending any of the members.
Therefore, it can be said that the entire story was baseless and was possibly created with the intention to provoke the fanbase or ruin the artists’ image. What do you think of this matter?
