For years, the Good Vibes Festival (GVF) has been a staple in the Malaysian entertainment and event calendar. Unfortunately, the music festival’s 2023 edition, which also happened to be its 10th-anniversary edition, was met with a huge blunder after the infamous incident involving British band The 1975 and its frontman Matty Healy.

While the Good Vibes Festival and its organiser, Future Sound Asia, were badly affected after what happened at last year’s event, it seems that they aren’t dwelling on the past anymore. Yesterday (5th May, Sunday), the music festival officially announced that it will be holding a new edition for 2024. According to the poster, this year’s event will be held on 20th and 21st July 2024 at Resorts World Awana (GHPO Bus Parking).

The news was met with tons of excitement from music fans who were happy to see the festival back on the local event calendar after what happened last year. Even celebrities and singers, including Hunny Madu, Angel from DOLLA and Claudia Tan, shared their enthusiastic reactions to the announcement. Along with the welcoming messages, netizens also started sharing the musical acts they hope to see at this year’s show.

However, not everyone was excited about the comeback announcement. Many were still sceptical that GVF could successfully bounce back after what had happened last year. On the other hand, some said Future Sound Asia has yet to refund their tickets for 2023’s edition, which was cancelled after the first day due to the Matty Healy controversy. This led to questions about whether the festival is ready for another event.

Nevertheless, many wished the best for the Good Vibes Festival and hoped for a smooth event this year. Are you excited for GVF2024? Who are you hoping to see at this year’s show?
