There’s only a handful of child actors who have grown to be the successful stars they are today such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Lindsay Lohan, Emma Roberts, Nicholas Hoult, Elle Fanning and Neil Patrick Harris. However, many have decided to retire from the entertainment industry after reaching the peak of their career.
Although he is still active, actor Frankie Muniz was one of those child actors who has been somewhat under the radar since his “Malcolm in the Middle” days. This has led many to wonder what he has been doing over the years but before we go into his life updates and past projects, let’s learn why he won’t ever allow his son to pursue a career in Hollywood.
Since it’s been a while, you probably didn’t know that Frankie Muniz had a son back in 2021 with his wife Paige Price whom he married in 2020. During an interview with Pedestrian TV yesterday (Monday, 25th March), the actor shared that while he had an amazing career as an actor in Hollywood, he would never allow his son, Mauz to join the business.
“Not that I had a negative experience because, to be honest, my experience [as an actor] was 100% positive but I know so many people, friends who were close to me, that had such insanely negative experiences and I just think it’s an ugly world in general,” he said. Apart from the horror stories he’s heard, the 38-year-old also felt like being a successful actor is like winning the lottery and that many would face tons of rejections before finally getting a role.
“There are millions of people in Hollywood who have tried. Maybe they’re the best actors on the planet but they were never given the opportunity. So it’s really a lot of luck that plays into it,” he elaborated. As for his own career in Hollywood, the “Fairly Odd Parents” alumnus went on hiatus back in 2008 and pursued a career in race car driving. Frankie competed in multiple open-wheel racing events including the Atlantic Championship and NASCAR’s Xfinity Series.
It was only back in 2012 that he decided to get back into acting. Although his fame may have faded over the years, the former child star has actually been active as an actor by playing supporting roles and cameos in TV series such as “The Rookie”, “New Amsterdam” and “Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens”. He’s also been involved in several movie projects since 2013 like “Grapevine Valentine”, “Road To Capri” and “The Black String”.
As for his personal life, during the same year of his acting comeback, Frankie was also hospitalised after having a suspected transient ischemic attack and had a second attack the following year. There were also claims that during his time on “Dancing with the Stars”, the actor suffered significant amnesia possibly due to multiple concussions but he then denied those rumours saying that the memory loss was largely misinterpreted in the media.
Apart from acting and racing, the celeb has been an active real estate investor and businessman throughout his adult life – purchasing and selling multiple residential properties and stores since the early 2000s. Back in 2021, he announced a partnership with The Ridge Wallet because of his love for carbon fibre wallets. Nowadays, Frankie is a part-time racer for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and will be appearing in the new season of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”.
