It’s everyone’s desire to make their house a home. Unfortunately, the homeowners of this low cost flat have been ordered to demolish a part of their place. As it turns out, they made an illegal addition to the building and are now paying the price for it!
Flats aren’t always the most spacious places to live in. However, these homeowners’ decision to take matters into their own hands has led to the Kuala Lumpur City Council issuing a demolition notice. Needless to say, many were left astonished by their boldness.
News about the low cost flat first popped up in Facebook group 马来西亚 机车美 Malaysia Motorcycle Paradise. One netizen had apparently taken to the platform to complain about said flat, located at Keramat Wangsa. Photos showed the extension, with a balcony and a terrace, attached to the side of a five-storey flat.
The netizen claimed their “lawless” act was too much. Allegedly, the extension could actually be seen from the road when one passed by. “It really is Malaysia Boleh,” they added sarcastically. Some netizens marvelled at how “luxurious” the flat was, while one claimed said extension had been there since 2013.
Well, according to China Press, the Kuala Lumpur City Council recently issued homeowners of the extension a demolition notice, presumably after they caught wind of the illegal addition. Reportedly, they will be dealing with the incident in phases. Additionally, the homeowners have supposedly been given enough time to prepare for the demolition.
It’s certainly daring of the homeowners and a little unfortunate that they are losing a part of their home. Still, we hope they will be able to find somewhere new and more spacious in time.
