Local actress and TV host Lyynn Lim (林佩盈) has always been known for her pleasant temperament. But, a recent event has proved that even her patience will run out when it comes to frustrating neighbours.
The 49-year-old actress has been having trouble with her neighbours recently, or more specifically, one bold uncle who’s been stealing her packages. To make matters worse, he refused to admit it, even after she confronted him!
On 22nd February, Lyynn Lim uploaded CCTV footage showing a man, allegedly her neighbour, stealing her package from a table placed at the building’s portico. The man appeared some time in the evening, started poking through packages, picked up a red bag and walked back into the building, package in hand. The CCTV traced his path, even tracking his apartment floor in the lift.
“I would like to ask this neighbour (from) the next building, are you not ashamed to take my things during Chinese New Year?” Lyynn asked in her post. “The entire process was captured on CCTV, and even the unit you live in is known. Wouldn’t this bring shame to your family?” The actress pointed out that the man was likely a repeat offender as he seemed calm and composed, and took the time to select the most “expensive” package.
“Have you forgotten that (there are) CCTVs everywhere?” she berated. “You live here but you take your neighbours things. Aren’t you embarrassed?” Lyynn’s ire was further exacerbated by the fact that she needed those items. “Those are items sent (to me) by clients to be photographed for work, but you don’t actually need them,” she said. “I (even) sent a message to the residents’ group, hoping you would (return them) but you pretended not to see it.”
Netizens were quick to sympathise with Lyynn Lim, with some claiming they had experienced the same issue with their neighbours. Several suggest calling the police, with one asking if the apartment’s management could do anything about the man. As one comment aptly said: “WTH this is stealing!”
Well, it certainly seems like a tough situation for Lyynn Lim, especially since she needs the packages for work. Hopefully she manages to resolve the situation with her neighbour soon, or find an alternative way to get her packages safely to her home.
