Farm Fresh co-founder Azmi Zainal, a.k.a. Boss Susu, is known for his approachable and laid-back demeanour despite being part of one of Malaysia’s most notable local brands. However, it seems that he can add ‘generous’ to his list of strong points after he shared a touching story of how he helped a struggling couple get back on their feet.
The story was about Sophia, a business owner Azmi has known since 2010. According to the Farm Fresh co-founder, Sophia contacted him in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to ask if she could start a small business with Farm Fresh. Sophia said she had lost her job to the pandemic and her husband’s car wash business could not operate due to the lockdown.
Azmi then advised her to be a stockist for Farm Fresh and even lent her RM18,000 to start a stockist business with her husband, Edwin. After a year, the couple’s business did so well that they decided to expand their store into a warehouse. However, when the two could not get a loan from a bank, they once again turned to Azmi for help. Surprisingly, the entrepreneur generously lent them another RM40,000 to expand their business.
In his post, Azmi revealed that Sophia and Edwin’s business has done so well since then that the couple now earns RM25 million per year. He also said the two have since paid off all their debt to him and are in close contact with the entrepreneur. He added that he was happy that the two could overcome their struggles and become successful.
Many netizens have reacted positively to the post and even showered Azmi with praises for his generosity. Many also applauded him for sincerely helping out a friend regardless of their race or religion. Even Sophia and Edwin took the opportunity to thank Azmi for his help during their difficult time, saying they will always appreciate him for making a difference in their lives.
Azmi deserved all the cheers he gets for helping Sophia and Edwin during a tough time – so kudos to you, Boss!
