Uncle Criticised For Hogging Seat On The LRT With His Bag & Removing His Shoes

Apart from sexual harassment cases that happened on the LRT and MRT, there have also been countless stories of inconsiderate passengers. There was one incident where a woman ignored other LRT passengers and hogged the seats with her shopping bags.

It’s common courtesy to give space for passengers to sit down, especially during long train rides, even if the seat you’re sitting on isn’t the priority seat. This man, however, despite being asked, allegedly refused to make room for passengers to sit down next to him on the LRT.

Yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 7th December), a netizen who goes by @annoyedmsian posted a photo of a man in an off-white coloured attire on the LRT with his bag placed on the seat next to him. The netizen alleged that the man refused to give up the seat next to him for another passenger to sit down. “Beware of this inconsiderate guy on the LRT! Someone asked him to remove his bag from the seat but he refused to do so while making a face”, they wrote.

If that wasn’t inconsiderate enough, as seen in the photo above, the man had also taken off his shoes during the train ride. The post went viral with netizens being understandably furious over the incident. Many shared what they would’ve done if they were to meet the man in the photo. Some said they would’ve removed the bag themselves and sat right next to him regardless while others condemned him for taking off his shoes in an air-conditioned confined space.

RapidKL Releases Statement Following Fatal Mishap At Puchong LRT Station

There were also some who claimed to have encountered the rude passenger, recalling that he had done the same thing to other passengers on both the LRT and MRT. After carefully examining the photo, we are almost certain that this is the same man who was caught eating snacks and removing his shoes inside the LRT a few months ago.

As seen in the screenshot of a video that went viral back in October, the shoes worn by the individual appear to be the same as the shoes in the photo of the recent incident. At the time of writing, RapidKL has yet to respond to the viral post by @annoyedmsian. The company previously released a statement that they would investigate the prior incident but it appears that either nothing was done or the man just hadn’t learned his lesson.
