It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Decorations for the jolly holiday are already being set up in shopping centres everywhere and many have already booked their flights to go home and celebrate with their families. The only thing that could make this Christmas feel even more joyful, apart from year-end sales, is to see it snowing.
Unfortunately, it has never nor will it ever snow in Malaysia but the impossible just happened in Petaling Jaya recently. This netizen took out their phone just in time to film the strange phenomenon one evening and all we can that it was truly magical. Watch:
@thefaabdul We were having coffee when suddenly we saw “snow” outside the window! We rushed out to take a closer look and were in awe. After a good 5 minutes of staring into the night sky, we ran outside to the road and realised they were foamy bubbles. A cleaner must have been scrubbing the rooftop of a building vigariously, causing the foams to fall off like snow. We ended up smiling, knowing that the cleaner may never know what an amazing moment he/she gave us, eventhough it was only a few minutes. We truly felt like children tonight, running after the snow! #christmas #snow #xmas #xmasvsreality

Yesterday (Wednesday, 22nd November), TikTok user @thefabadul posted a video on her channel to show what she had witnessed in Petaling Jaya the night before. She and a few other people were having coffee at a shop when suddenly, they saw that it was “snowing” outside the window, as seen in the video above. The group then rushed outside to take a closer look at the strange sighting.
“We were in awe. After a good 5 minutes of staring into the night sky, we ran outside to the road and realised they were foamy bubbles. A cleaner must have been scrubbing the rooftop of a building vigorously, causing the foams to fall off like snow,” she wrote in the caption. The netizen also suspected that the cleaner responsible for the fake snow may not have even been aware of the magical sight they created.
“We truly felt like children tonight, running after the snow!” she said. Speaking with local media, @thefabadul revealed that the incident occurred near Digital Mall and that the shoppers exiting the shopping centre also got to witness the whimsical moment. She also said that the timing for the snowfall was perfect as she and her group were just talking about how they were looking forward to the holidays.
We wish we could’ve been there to see it “snowing” in Petaling Jaya as well. Are you excited for Christmas now?
