It’s been an eventful long weekend for many. Other than celebrating Deepavali, many also attended the 9Wave Music Festival that took place at Sunway Lagoon featuring, some of the hottest names in K-pop. One of the idols who performed at the concert was former Super Junior-M member, Henry Lau (헨리/ 刘宪华).
The singer took some time to explore Kuala Lumpur before and after the show and shared his experiences with his fans on social media. One of the highlights during his visit was probably when he met Malaysian-born fashion icon, Datuk Jimmy Choo (周仰杰).

On Sunday (12th November), Henry posted a video and a photo on all his social media pages that showed him meeting one of the biggest names in the fashion industry, Penang-born designer Jimmy Choo. During their meetup, not only did the fashion mogul agreed to take part in the idol’s TikTok video, but he also gifted him a Songket-inspired jacket.
Fans reacted to the celebrities’ interaction with most of them complimenting how beautiful the jacket looks. Some expressed their envy at seeing the 34-year-old singer casually hanging out with such a fashion legend. Since the jacket’s design was inspired by a Songket (a garment traditionally worn for weddings), many also joked if Henry would be getting married in the near future.
Apart from meeting Jimmy Choo, Henry also explored the city of Kuala Lumpur during his time in the country. As seen in the photos above, the “SUMMER SKY” singer visited the Petronas Twin Towers, posed with a durian and even tried some local delicacies. Fans were also astonished by his photography skills as one of the photos he took in Bukit Bintang looked like it was taken in Korea.
This was actually not the first time the former Super Junior-M member visited Malaysia as he was in Penang earlier this year with singer Paul Kim. It’s safe to assume that Henry Lau definitely enjoyed his time in Malaysia and we hope that he comes back for a solo concert in the future.
