Power outages can be quite concerning and scary at times since they usually happen suddenly, without warning. Who would forget the massive blackout that happened around the Klang Valley as well as other states in Malaysia last year?
While this may be on a smaller scale, it still took a lot of people by surprise. Yesterday evening (Wednesday, 25th October), NU Sentral apparently suffered a blackout.
Seluruh bangunan pusat beli-belah NU Sentral 'black out' kira-kira jam 6.50 petang tadi dipercayai akibat gangguan sistem bekalan elektrik.

In a video posted by Bernama, NU Sentral experienced a power outage around 6:50pm. It was believed that the sudden blackout was due to a disruption in the electricity supply system. As mentioned in the tweet shown above, the electronics in shops, lifts and escalators all stopped working.
The shoppers can be seen walking aimlessly, confused about what they should do during the power outage. Some took to Twitter to express their grievance while others showed concern for those who may be stuck in the lifts since they were not operational. According to one Japanese netizen, the power outage apparently occurred on the right side of the building while the left side still had electricity.

There has been no information on how long the blackout lasted or if there were any injuries among the shoppers there during that time. However, judging by tweets from netizens earlier today, it can be assumed that everything went back to normal not long after.
As far as we’re aware, the last time NU Sentral experienced a power outage was back in May earlier this year when a fire broke out in Mid Valley Megamall. The fire reportedly caused power outages in multiple areas in the Klang Valley, including NU Sentral.
