The Malaysian entertainment industry mourns the sudden death of another local talent, actress Chan Jeak Ping (曾若冰), known more familiarly as Ruobing.
According to news reports, Ruobing was bathing her two young children when she suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors tried resuscitating her for two days, but, unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at age 36. She left behind her husband and her two children.
The late actress was known for her roles in local television productions, including the Astro AEC series “High School Iron King” (高校铁金刚) or “Yes, Sir!”. She also appeared in the 2010 Malaysian movie, “Ice Kacang Puppy Love” (初恋红豆冰), playing the younger Chew An Qi (周安琪). She later retired from the entertainment industry to focus on her family. Before her death, she was active as a host for online live broadcasting platforms and doing promotions for the baby brand Coby Haus.
After news of her death spread, many of her former colleagues mourned her passing. Director Ryon Lee (李勇昌) posted on Facebook that he has yet to accept the news, while actress Lim Ching Miau (林静苗) wrote a touching tribute to the late actress on her Facebook. Ruobing’s peers at Coby Haus also left heartfelt messages after her passing, saying, “Thank you, Ruobing. Rest in peace. Your sunny smile will stay in our hearts forever.”
