(Video) Foreign Passenger Lashes Out At AirAsia Crew & Captain; Causes 1 Hour Delay?

Flight delays due to technical issues are nothing out of the ordinary and most of the time, although annoyed, passengers would simply let it go as they’d still rather be safe during the journey. This foreign man, however, chose to lash out at the flight crew and captain on an AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi.

Over the weekend, passengers posted videos of an incident that occurred on board the plane. In a TikTok video by @sophian_azmi, security was called in after a foreign passenger caused a scene. It was first alleged that the passenger was drunk due to his aggressive behaviour towards everyone on the flight.

In the video shown above, it took a few members of the security team to pull the man out of his seat to meet with the captain before he finally stood up while being cursed at by other passengers for not following orders. In a follow-up video, the TikTok user explained that the flight had experienced some technical issues and was thus delayed, which angered the foreigner.

The traveller allegedly started cursing at the flight crew and demanded to speak with the captain. However, in a video posted by another passenger, the foreign man (who was profusely apologising at this point) apparently refused to leave his seat after the captain agreed to meet with him outside the plane to speak about his complaints. He also claimed to have not insulted anyone despite everyone having witnessed his earlier actions.

The technical problems as well as the altercation caused the flight to be delayed by 1 hour. The captain was said to have allowed the man to return to his seat before departing. After arriving at Langkawi International Airport, the traveller was then seen cursing about the incident. TikTok user @mdmsue03 claimed that the man was testing everyone’s patience throughout the entire journey.

Netizens have since been asking for more information on the incident while others questioned the AirAsia captain’s decision to allow the passenger to still board the plane. Some even suspected that the foreigner may have Tourette syndrome judging by the weird random sounds he was making in the viral videos posted, which could also explain why some suspected he was drunk at first.

At the time of writing, AirAsia has yet to release a statement regarding the incident. We’re glad that everyone reached their destination safely and we hope that an incident like this will not happen again.
