There have been too many cases of customers discovering insects or other vermins in their meals when dining in at restaurants but unfortunately, the story of the woman finding cockroaches in her soy sauce bottle at home made many realise that one can never be too careful.
Regardless, it’s always best to properly check your food before eating, otherwise you might encounter another horrible discovery like this customer – who found fly eggs in their KFC meal.
Earlier this week, Reddit user @lypotatoe posted several photos of their KFC chicken meal that was ordered from the Alam Damai Petronas station. The photo in the first showed nothing out of the ordinary about the fried chicken but a zoomed-in photo in the next slide revealed that the meal apparently had fly eggs in them. Unfortunately for the customer, they made the horrific discovery after the chicken had already been half-eaten.
“Extremely disgusting, KFC need to fix this, FAST. This is food SAFETY and it’s totally unacceptable!!!” the user wrote before adding that they had already filed a complaint to the famous fast-food chain. The Reddit post went viral with many netizens advising the customer to also file a report to the authorities as well as the Ministry of Health as they believe this case deserves an intervention from the Government.
Some shared stories of how they too suffered from food poisoning due to eating undercooked fried chicken from other KFC outlets. Others complained about how the quality of KFC meals has drastically plummeted as of late.
In the comments section, @lypotatoe updated that the KFC outlet called and apologised for the incident. The Reddit user also claimed that the fast-food chain requested to retrieve the contaminated chicken for investigation, which led some to suspect that the company may want to dispose of the evidence.
At the time of writing, KFC has yet to release a statement regarding the incident. Let’s hope the customer will be compensated for the trouble.
