Restaurant hygiene is just as important as the quality of the food. Unfortunately, there have been cases where some establishments don’t take hygiene as seriously as they should. Who can forget the time when a customer found a rat’s head in their meal? The thought alone was enough to make everyone sick.
Even if the restaurant has a good reputation, one must still be careful and check their food for anything that shouldn’t be there like this TikToker who discovered there were maggots in her meal:
@misz..azura ntahlah nk cakap apa ..baik masak kat rumah ja terjamin kebersihannya tak gituw org ampang mesti tau kedai mana ..sbb famous sgt kedai ni 😅😅
A TikTok user who goes by @miszzazura recently posted a video of her fried rice meal that she purchased at an eatery in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. She noticed something was moving in her food and upon closer inspection, she discovered that they were maggots wriggling around in the rice.
“I don’t know what to say. It’s better if I just cook my own meals at home where hygiene is guaranteed,” she wrote in the captions. While the name of the restaurant was not disclosed, the user said that she ordered the meal from a popular establishment and added that those from Ampang would know which one she was referring to.
The viral video which has now reached over 1.4 million views on TikTok, received many negative reactions from netizens with most of them feeling disgusted by the sight of the larvae in the fried rice. Some joked that the maggots were extra protein for the meal while others seemed to have narrowed down the location of the restaurant without actually naming it.
At the time of writing, there has been no update on which restaurant this disastrous meal came from nor has any restaurant from Klang come forward with an official statement regarding the issue. Regardless of whether you’re dining in or ordering take-out, always make sure to check your meal for anything that shouldn’t even be there in the first place.
