The wait is almost over, Malaysian Bunnies – because the long-awaited McDonald’s and NewJeans (뉴진스) collaboration is landing in our country soon.
The collaboration between the fast food giant and the chart-topping Korean girl group was first announced back in May via McDonald’s Korea’s social media accounts. The ‘NewJeans Chicken Dance Campaign’ officially kicked off in June and featured advertisements of the girls promoting the brand’s chicken menu items.


Along with the launch in South Korea, the campaign was planned to be released in 9 other Asian regions, according to an official schedule shared by the fast food brand. Like in other regions, the upcoming campaign in our country will feature exclusive McDonald’s packaging with the NewJeans mascot and exclusive merchandise.
The campaign will supposedly be available in Malaysia starting 7th September, with Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam to follow suit. There haven’t been any updates from McDonald’s Malaysia on the collab meal but more information should be released in the coming days.
Besides South Korea, the campaign has already been launched in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei. The NewJeans collaboration is McDonald’s second worldwide campaign featuring a K-pop group, with the first being the hugely successful collaboration with BTS.
