After a long hiatus and a turbulent legal case, K-Pop sensations NewJeans (뉴진스) are finally back. The girl group recently unveiled teasers and new photos, announcing their return as a four-member group.
On 22nd July at midnight (KST), NewJeans dropped a series of new videos and photos, signalling their return to group activities after a brief hiatus. To recap, the girl group were embroiled in a months-long legal case involving the members, their company ADOR and their former CEO and executive producer Min Hee Jin (민희진). The legal case concluded with NewJeans members, minus Danielle (다니엘), returning to their agency.

The new “2026 Summer of NewJeans” teasers and photos marked the group’s first official release since their legal case. The drop also commemorates NewJeans’ fourth anniversary. However, it’s unclear whether the new videos and photos are also a teaser for an upcoming comeback, or merely signify a rebrand for the group. In case you’re wondering, NewJeans’ last comeback was in 2024.
The new videos and photos immediately sparked interest among fans and netizens alike, with the main group video amassing over 1 million views on YouTube within 10 hours of release. As one of K-Pop’s most successful groups, many were looking forward to NewJeans’ return, especially after their legal case. Some also said they have high hopes for the group’s upcoming musical releases.

Understandably, many Bunnies (NewJeans fans) are disappointed that the group will return with only four members. Despite Danielle expressing interest in returning to ADOR and resuming her activities with NewJeans, the company previously confirmed that it had terminated the idol’s exclusive contract. Additionally, the company is currently engaged in a legal battle with Danielle over breach of contract.
With limited details about the group’s plans, the public can only wait to see what NewJeans has in store for the future. Nevertheless, we wish the group all the best. Check out the “2026 Summer of NewJeans” teaser below:
