A post on a Korean online community has been making waves recently, especially amongst K-pop fans and the queer community. It listed down the ten female idols that Japanese lesbians and bisexuals have voted as their favourites.
Last year, a similar poll had queer Koreans voting for their picks and this year’s results saw many familiar names, but ultimately, the list was topped by two fourth-generation idols. The first place went to IVE’s Yujin (유진) with 88 votes, and the second place title went to aespa’s Karina (카리나) with 87 votes. Since both idol groups have been actively promoting in Japan lately, it’s understandable if these members have been catching many locals’ eyes.

Two idols shared the third place with 77 votes each; TWICE’s Mina (미나) and WJSN’s Seola (설아). The latter was one of two female idols most favoured by Korean lesbians, along with former G-IDLE member Soojin. The idols in the fifth to tenth place were Mina’s groupmate Sana (사나), Red Velvet’s Seulgi (슬기), IVE’s Gaeul (가을), Le Sserafim’s Yunjin (윤진), MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul (문별) and WJSN’s Eunseo (은서).
Many South Korean women reacted to the list, mostly agreeing with the outcome. One commenter who identifies as bisexual said the results match her ideal type exactly, while another said the top three idols were also her favourites.

What do you think about the results? Were you expecting the same outcome, or were there other idols on your mind?
