Earlier this year in January, celebrity chef, Chef Wan lost his dear mother to cancer. She passed away in her sleep at 93 years old after a long battle with the disease along with dementia.
While things have been getting better for the chef since his mother’s passing, he was, unfortunately, then struck with more bad news. Yesterday (Thursday, 3rd August), he revealed that he was just diagnosed with cancer.

The 65-year-old posted on his Instagram to inform his followers and loved ones that he has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. “At 3pm, my doctor broke the news about the biopsy of my lymph nodes. They had to run it twice to make sure of the result they got. I have indeed Lymphoma Cancer,” he wrote.
In the lengthy post, the public figure explained all the processes and procedures he has to go through in order to get better. He also shared that the cancer is still in its early stages with a 70-80% chance of him being cured of the life-threatening illness. While the television host said he’s taking things one step at a time with an open heart, his children, of course, didn’t take the news so well.
“My daughter and son-in-law broked down hearing this. I said ‘Don’t cry please, I will be okay. I am not leaving yet!'” he told his family. Chef Wan ended his post by reassuring his fans that he will do all he can to get better and thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Shortly after breaking the news, many of the chef’s followers as well as his celebrity friends offered their prayers and warm wishes for him to be cured. It’s good that they discovered the cancer at this early stage and we also pray that his health will continue to improve!
Get well soon, Chef Wan!
