After successfully launching Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Kuala Lumpur last year, Gordon Ramsay is reportedly opening another restaurant in Kuala Lumpur soon. First opened in London in 2018, Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza will make its way to Malaysian shores later this year.
In a Facebook post earlier today (Monday, 19th June), Sunway Resort Hotel announced that the celebrity chef’s new restaurant will open in the third quarter of 2023. The restaurant will be the first Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza outlet in Southeast Asia, with other outlets located in the United Kingdom, South Korea, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
While it may be a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, this isn’t necessarily a fancy spot since this restaurant is known to have a more casual menu of pizzas, hot wings, dirty fries, draft beers, and cocktails. At its earlier outlets, the restaurant typically has a lively atmosphere with live music and big screens playing sports matches.
In a statement released by Alex Castaldi, the Senior General Manager of Sunway City Kuala Lumpur Hotels, he believes that the restaurant has a lot of potential to become a favourite among locals. He said, “Malaysians love pizza, and Street Pizza offers pizza without rules. It’s not just about the awesome food, it’s also the vibe.”
Given that the chef’s first Malaysian restaurant was a hit, there’s no doubt this new launch will also attract a huge crowd. Will you go check it out once it’s open?
