One of the downsides of being famous is the lack of privacy. Paparazzi are watching their every move, while obsessed fans feel entitled to their favourite celebs. Not too long ago, actor Wang Yibo was stalked while in a plane, resulting in his management releasing a stern warning.
This week Hong Kong star Pakho Chau (周柏豪) finds himself making headlines after alleged nude photos had leaked online. From the photos, the singer was seen in a yellowish-orange shower room. In the first photo, he looked to be really stunned at the sudden intruder taking his photos. The second photo shows Pakho putting on his undergarment to protect his private parts from being exposed.
After Pakho’s nude photos went viral, it sparked heated discussions within netizens. There were some claiming that the photos may be AI generated given how advanced AI is nowadays. Whereas, others brought up an old incident in 2018 when he was photographed illicitly in a locker room. They guessed that the leaked photos might be from then.
Five years ago, Pakho posted a long paragraph on Instagram describing an unpleasant experience he had during one of his competitions. He was reportedly changing in a stadium locker room, when someone sneakily took his photos while he was stark naked. The perpetrator tried to flee the scene but the Cantopop star caught him.
“This (illicitly photographing) is a really serious offense. It is already forbidden to take pictures in the locker room itself, yet to find someone else taking pictures of me illicitly is something even more unacceptable. No one should be allowed to take photos of a subject without their permission. One definite reason why I wanted to question him is because I wanted to protect myself. This is a very serious problem. I can’t accept this, let alone tolerate it.”
Before letting the perpetrator go, Pakho made sure that the perpetrator had deleted the explicit photos and apologised for his behaviour. Many netizens praised him for how he dealt with the issue at that time. Although netizens guessed that the leaked photos may be related to the incident, some argue that these leaked photos do not add up.
Others suggest that maybe these were taken at a later date.
