Durian Kimchi YouTuber Ryzal Ibrahim can’t seem to catch a break from criticism! He was previously called out for mocking those in the B40 income group on his social media. Despite the massive backlash, the husband to Korean influencer Maryam stated that he won’t apologise for the matter.
This time, Ryzal received another round of backlash over a video shared on his Instagram. Ryzal (full name Nik Rizal Nik Ibrahim) uploaded a “Get Ready With Me” video on IG. He shared a simple trick on how to rock short pants while “conforming to the Islamic law”.

The content creator from Kelantan shared a video of himself preparing to head out. He’s seen wearing a pair of printed shorts with a matching shirt, and also some accessories. He also wore a pair of tights to cover his knees. Ryzal’s post, however, was met with mixed responses from netizens online. One particular netizen also questioned the statement shared by Ryzal regarding aurat (intimate parts) of men.
The IG user, @amatnabhan argued, “(Your statement) is not accurate. You’re not covering your ‘aurat’ properly because the part between your knees and the bottom hem of the shorts is still tight. There’s a different law when it comes to wearing tight clothes. If that’s the case, women can claim the same if they’re wearing leggings to cover their ‘aurat’. Only God knows.”
Instead of staying silent, Ryzal clapped back at the netizen. “The law only applies for women. You’re comparing men’s ‘aurat’ to ‘women’. Which sacred book are you referring to?” the 31-year-old questioned. The latter then responded, “You should wear loose clothing to cover your ‘aurat’ properly. Men can wear tight outfits (which show their body shape) because it’s not their intimate parts.”
Aside from the aurat issue, many also poked fun at his height in the comments.
