DJ Leina Lei recently visited Pulau Tioman for a short and sweet vacay. Unfortunately, her holiday was abruptly ruined after she came into contact with some sea anemone.
Not one to pass up the opportunity, Leina decided to go diving while she was at Pulau Tioman. However, the local DJ opted to wear a normal swimsuit instead of a diving suit. Regretfully, that cost her when her bare skin touched a sea anemone, which left horrible scars.
On 16th May, DJ Leina Lei shared that she had gone diving while at Pulau Tioman. However, during her diving trip, they had to squeeze through a dark cave. “(The) narrow and dark cave had sea anemone. I didn’t notice it, but (I was) suddenly in pain,” Leina explained. She added in her socials later that she had stopped diving immediately. “The burning sensation is very painful,” she stated.
Leina tried to get treated for the sea anemone stings at a hospital at Pulau Tioman. Unfortunately, no doctors were available at the time. “I could only take some medicine and apply it. I was forced to rush back to KL immediately,” she shared. From her photos, it seems the sea anemone had stung her thighs, leaving her skin swollen and scarred.
The DJ later lamented that this could have been avoided if she had simply worn a diving suit. “I really regret not wearing a full wetsuit (because) I wanted to look more beautiful. In fact, if I were more careful, all this would not have happened,” Leina said. She also shared that in addition to being in pain for over 36 hours, she was also concerned about how well the scarring would heal.
DJ Leina Lei advised her followers to always wear the full diving suit set when going diving. “This is the hardest and most painful 36 hours of my life,” she said. “Don’t cause scars that you regret for the rest of your life.” She also hoped others would treat her experience as a lesson. As for Leina herself, she shared that the scars had left her concerned about how her legs would look to others.
However, just yesterday (18th May), Leina stated that constant treatment has reduced the pain and swelling of the stings. She also thanked her followers for their help and encouragement after her accident. We sincerely hope she gets better soon!
