Onlyfans creator and local DJ Gatita Yan (Tong Lee Yan) has a penchant for the bold and the new. Unfortunately, it seems that may have gotten her and her boyfriend, entrepreneur Tay Wee Shen (郑伟盛) in hot water recently.
The duo had supposedly been taking a trip to Ipoh when Wee Shen tried using the car’s autopilot function. Gatita had initially meant to show the function to her followers, but it backfired on her instead as it sparked discussion about its legal use. Needless to say, the police are currently looking for the duo to investigate the issue.
A few days ago, Gatita and Wee Shen took a road trip to Ipoh for a romantic holiday. The couple apparently drove there in Wee Shen’s BMW car. Mid-trip, Wee Shen had apparently felt like taking a nap. As such, he switched to using the autopilot mode available in the BMW.
Gatita showed the scene on her socials, uploading a photo of Wee Shen asleep in the driver’s seat while the car drove itself. Notably enough, Wee Shen had his hands off the wheel and his feet off the pedals. “Sleeping?” Gatita captioned, laughing at her boyfriend. Unfortunately, others did not find the scene very sweet.
Several pointed out that using the autopilot function could be a danger. Others wondered if it was even legal. As it turns out, the answer to the latter is no. Police have since revealed that Gatitta and Wee Shen will be detained for an investigation if they are found. The authorities added that while cars with an autopilot function are not banned, driving while endangering other road users is still against the law.
Well, that’s certainly a damper on their getaway. Neither Gatita nor Wee Shen have since commented on the issue. In fact, from Gatita’s previous Instagram Stories, the duo were still enjoying themselves on their holiday. However, we do hope this will remind drivers to take more care on the road.
