The life of a public figure is never easy, especially for women. More often than not, most of them are subjected to various forms of harassments from the public. Needless to say, such lewd remarks could end up leaving a deep scar on the victims.
Recently, a Facebook user, Ruslan Mat Ali, has come under massive fire after he was caught leaving sexual harassment remark towards the daughter of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Nurul Izzah. Apparently, the comment was made to express his disappointment about the government’s decision to disallow EPF fund withdrawals.

Netizens later discovered that the man is doing offshore work at Sapura Energy Berhad. The post has eventually gone viral, prompting his former company to come up with a statement. They revealed that the individual in question was a contractor who ended his contract for service in 2019.
“We would like to make it clear that we strongly condemn the sexual harassment contained in the offensive comment. To help keep the social media safe from such abuse, we have also taken the initiative to make a report to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission,” the company stated.
Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital, also took to his official Twitter to address the matter. “The statement made by this individual has been referred to and brought to the attention of @PDRMsia (Royal Malaysia Police) for further action,” he tweeted.
