When it comes to food, there’ll always be a never-ending debate on which country has the best dish. Some of Malaysia’s famous local dishes have been compared countless times to Singapore’s and Indonesia’s. Of course, in the end, it all comes down to one’s preferences but you have to admit, we can get pretty defensive about our food.

Speaking of comparing food, have you ever wondered about the quality of our fast food versus other countries? How does our McDonald’s taste to the Americans? Luckily, we have the answers right here as this couple shared how different they are:

Cindy and Eddie are American YouTubers who regularly post videos of their travels around the world. The couple has been in Malaysia for nearly 2 months now and they recently visited the McDonald’s outlet in Bukit Bintang, where they shared how Malaysia’s McDonald’s restaurants are, in comparison to the ones in the United States.

Firstly, Eddie pointed out the menu is obviously different from the ones back in his home country as Malaysia’s McD restaurants include rice or, more specifically, Nasi Lemak in the menu. The second thing they noticed is how Malaysia’s McDs have a separate station specifically for ordering coffee and desserts, referring to the McCafe. And of course, the quality of the fast food here…

Starting with the regular cheeseburger, the content creators said that they taste exactly the same as the ones in the US, much to their delight. As for the fries, they stated they’re less salty but still have the same McD quality. While ordering earlier, the American couple noticed the promotion for the famous Prosperity Burger, which does not exist in the US.

As you can tell from their expressions, they really enjoyed the burger. “It’s like a McDonald’s burger but they put peppery steak sauce in it. It’s really good. Very delicious,” the YouTubers described. Malaysian netizens commented on the video, saying that they were glad the couple enjoyed their meal with some providing more information on the Prosperity Burger to them.
