As tourists, we must always respect the laws of the country we’re visiting. It’s unfortunate that some foreigners still fail to grasp this simple concept simply because they’re not citizens of the country.

We’ve had a Greek man questioning Malaysia’s airport’s “unacceptable” security procedure when he could not bring his water bottle on board the plane. Earlier this month, there was the story of the infamous Russian couple who allegedly climbed to the top of the Merdeka 118 tower. Now we have another foreigner who had apparently lost his common sense somewhere.

Earlier this week, user @rico_sirabani posted a video on TikTok of an incident that happened on a bus. The video is currently going viral with now reaching over 1.2 million views, 44.1k likes, and 3k comments. The video showed a heated argument between a bus driver and an Arab passenger. According to the text caption in the video, the foreign tourist had placed his feet up on top of a bus seat.

The driver confronted and scolded the Arab man about his rude behaviour after making other passengers uncomfortable. As seen in the video, the tourist got up from his seat and tried to intimidate the Malaysian bus driver. Meanwhile an Arab woman, who is speculated to be a family member, tried to stop the altercation, telling the man to calm down and return to his seat. Unfortunately, the fight didn’t end there as the driver told the tourist to leave the vehicle.

Not wanting to tolerate the foreign man’s inconsiderate action, the bus driver exited the vehicle while shouting the words, “You’re in Malaysia!”. After the video went viral, netizens praised the bus driver for scolding the Arab man for his lack of common sense.

If you’re wondering what happened after the driver left the bus, @rico_sirabani posted part 2 of the video of the incident. In the video, the atmosphere became increasingly intense during the fight. The Arab woman asked for help from the other passengers to stop the argument. An Indonesian woman stood up to help calm the situation.

It is currently not known if she succeeded nor if there is a part 3 by the TikTok user. There is also no information on which bus or location the incident took place. We hope that the issue has been resolved and that all the bus passengers managed to reach their destinations that day.
