The beginning stages of a new relationship consists of many romantic behaviours. Wanting to know everything about each other, not wanting to leave one another, and even forgoing sleep to keep texting or talking to each other. The latter is a common phenomenon called making a ‘sleep call’. Lovebirds would often fall asleep while still on the line with each other.
Just like many of us, singer and TikToker Athalia is currently in the romantic stage of her relationship. We know this because her mother, Sharifah Zarina, recently exposed her ‘sleep calling’ her boyfriend! What are these two without some drama?

The exposé video on TikTok by the influencer’s mother went hugely viral, with almost 855,000 views! The 10-second snippet of Athalia shows her deep asleep with her iPad still on; while her boyfriend is seen in the video call, also asleep!
In response to the viral video, the influencer posted another video – exposing her mother! While her mother is technically not doing anything out of the ordinary, she responds to being filmed by checking out her reflection in the phone and calling herself ‘pretty’. The influencer then shrieks, before abruptly ending the video.

Scrolling through the TikTok comments, we found that netizens had mixed reactions. Many were amused and making jokes, saying that they can’t live without sleep calls. Some even said that if their own mothers caught them doing the same thing, they would get walloped.
Despite the two videos and netizens’ reactions, it’s nice to see such a healthy mother-daughter relationship, with the duo sharing everything and hiding nothing from each other. We hope they continue this relationship and always strive to bring positive content to the community.
