Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨) certainly brought much joy to Malaysia last weekend (17th December) with his “Magic Man World Tour“. This was certainly a delight to fans as it was Jackson’s second time performing in Malaysia.
However, Jackson hasn’t only made people happy with his performance on stage. He’s also been bringing joy to people by simply enjoying his break in Malaysia! From Singaporean artist JJ Lin (林俊傑) to Gaston (庞加斯顿) and Jeii Pong (庞琂予) to casual passers-by, Jackson has been encountering many people and each one has expressed delight at meeting him!
Many may be aware that JJ Lin had been backstage with Jackson after his concert to celebrate his performance. But, as it tuned out, the duo did a little more than that. Jackson and JJ also took the opportunity to watch the World Cup finals together!
The entire scene was made funnier by the fact that they were supporting opposing teams; JJ was rooting for the French team while Jackson was siding with the Argentina team. In an Instagram story uploaded on Jackson’s socials, Jackson could be seen begging French player Mbappé to not make a goal through the TV screen. When Mbappé scored, Jackson fell dramatically to his knees while JJ could be seen cheering!
If you were envious of JJ Lin and the two lucky fans for getting to meet Jackson at his “Magic Man World Tour” concert, don’t be! As it turns out, there was a high chance of running into Jackson on the streets of Malaysia, given that he was busy wandering them.
In fact, local artists Jeii and Gaston Pong managed to bump into Jackson Wang when they were eating hotpot in IOI City Mall. Gaston shared he had been especially surprised. “I was drinking the soup and did not realise his appearance,” he commented in his social posting. The Pong siblings also got a chance to snap a photo with him which made their fans and friends envious.
They weren’t the only ones. Jackson was also spotted right outside a local Watsons. Funnily enough, the news had been reported by Watsons’ official account on Twitter. Some netizens teasingly asked if Jackson was making his rounds at the mall, others suggested that Watsons make Jackson their ambassador.
A few however commented that the photo was too blurry to really make Jackson out, with one asking: “Is that Anthony Loke in disguise as Jackson Wang?” Others joked that it wasn’t such a big deal as he had only passed by the store and not visited it. One netizen in particular pointed out that fans should give Jackson some “personal space”. “He’s also human, why are you all (bothering) him?” they asked.

Jackson also apparently visited Sunway University to do a “Magic Man” dance workshop. Needless to say, most of us wish we could be students again! But, it’s unfortunate that Jackson’s time in Malaysia has come to an end.
As a last hurrah, the singer shared that he finally got to try mamak. Well, we sincerely hope he had a great time in Malaysia! Fingers crossed that he’ll be back soon.
