Over the past couple of weeks, Cleopatra has been the centre of attention among local netizens on social media. In case you missed it, the influencer made the news when she declared her intention to run for the parliamentary seat in Batu for the recent general election.
That said, Cleo’s venture into the political world hasn’t been an easy one for her so far. During her campaigns, she encountered tons of criticisms online. At one point, she was even called a pornstar! Recently, Cleo once again found herself going viral for the wrong reason.

For starters, Cleo uploaded a picture of her holding a baby on her Twitter. In the post, she talked about how one of her PACAs (polling/counting agent) had to bring her child along to the voting centre. Upon seeing this, Cleo volunteered to help take care of the baby. In the photo, the baby is snoozing under her shawl. However, some netizens thought that she was breastfeeding the baby.
The comments were flooded with some netizens leaving sexual remarks aimed at the internet celebrity. They left comments such as, “Currently Googling how to become a baby,” “I want to breastfeed too,” “The baby is so lucky for getting so much milk,” “I want to become a baby again after seeing this photo,” among others.
Here are some of the other comments that we found online:

Cleo later appeared in an interview with mStar to address the controversy surrounding her tweet. According to her, she never thought that her posting on Twitter would go viral in such a manner, as she didn’t have any bad intentions. “During my time campaigning in the Batu parliamentary seat for GE15, I’ve probably held hundreds of babies,” she revealed.
“All babies, even newborns, could sleep on me. Toddlers also want me. There was this one toddler girl who said that she didn’t want to go home with her mother because she wanted to follow me home,” the single mom added during the interview. Cleo also shared some comments on Facebook which shed some more light on the controversy. FB user Ibu Lara wrote, “The baby was just sleeping in Cleo’s arms. She didn’t breastfeed the baby. She just likes kids.”

When asked to share her response to the overflowing amounts of lewd comments left on her post, Cleo said that she only considered it as a rude joke. “I just look at (the comments) from a more positive point of view so that I won’t get more frustrated. I’ll take it as a joke,” the NGO activist was quoted as saying.
