As humans, it is important to be aware of what is happening with your body. We should take time to maintain extra care of ourselves for a longer, more fulfilling life. And it is even more essential for one to be able to talk about these critical things, without seeing it as taboo.
Actress and influencer Ayda Jebat is lending her support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and hopes to educate more people on this issue. Collaborating with Watsons, the Malaysian star has done a mini-film to show that women shouldn’t be shy when discussing about topics like these.
Together with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), Watsons Malaysia recently hosted the launch of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign at Dadi Cinema in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and this year’s theme is Pink for the Win. Also present at the launch were experts in the field who shared similar opinions about openness and breaking the taboo in talking about breast cancer.
The Watsons ambassador shared, “In my opinion, every woman, including young girls, needs to know the simplest way to have self-check done and to speak out, especially to family members of this topic. It could be seen as a taboo but as the saying goes, early detection is the best prevention.”

“I think it’s good for you to know how and when (to check) and everything. I too am just starting to learn. To those who don’t have husbands, you should be able to express any discomfort or anything different on your brrr (breast). You should discuss it with your families or go get it checked out with a professional doctor.” she added.
Did you know? Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and the number one killer of Malaysian women. Therefore, it is very important for all women to take the time to check and be sure. Even Ayda Jebat said so!
