The semi-final for Miss Hong Kong 2022 pageant (香港小姐競選) was initially scheduled to take place on Sunday (4th September). However, 5 Miss Hong Kong contestants have contracted Covid-19 – resulting in the semi-finals being postponed until further notice.
Despite this setback, rumour has it that the competition results have found its way online. According to the leaks, the champion, runner-up, and second runner-up have already been selected. This is highly suspicious since the girls haven’t even competed in the semi-finals and finale yet.
The winners’ leaked list reads:
- First place winner: Astrid Xu (徐麟)
- 2nd place: Cherry Chan (陳銘鳳)
- 3rd place: Gabrielle Wang (王子蝶)
- Miss Photogenic: Cecca Xu (許子萱)
- Miss Friendship: Catherine Ao (敖嘉揚)
Although Sharon Ying (邢慧敏) has been dubbed as a hot favourite to make it far, she didn’t make it unto this leaked list. As aforementioned, we’re taking this list with a grain of salt. For all we know, it could simply be someone’s wish list, hoping to see their favourites win. As per tradition, the ladies are required to take part in a Q&A segment and show off their talents in order to score enough points to qualify for the top 5.
To recap, last year’s Miss Hong Kong winner was Sabina Mendes (宋宛穎), while the runner-ups were Carina Leung (梁凱晴) and Kristy Shaw (邵初) respectively.
