The rainbow is not going anywhere yet as it is still Pride Month and there’s a lot of celebration going on. The LA Pride Festival is an annual LGBTQ+ event in Los Angeles and one of the biggest Pride events in the world. Artists who are part of the community or an ally would be excited for the chance to perform at the festival.
This year’s “LA Pride in the Park” event was held last weekend where Christina Aguilera was one of the headliners. The power house vocalist performed at the show in colourful and striking costumes but one outfit got the people divided on whether it was appropriate or not.

American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera, known for her powerful vocals, headlined the “LA Pride in the Park” event alongside Brazilian singer Anitta. The 41-year-old performed many of her hits including “Beautiful” and “DIRRTY”. She graced the stage with multiple and colourful costume changes but her last outfit got the whole internet heated up.
The “Bionic” singer wore a hulk-like green outfit with a bedazzled strap-on during her final act of the show where she performed “XXX” with German transgender singer Kim Petras. The performance shocked the world and many took to social media to express their disgust or support for Christina.
The reactions have been mixed with even those within the LGBTQ+ community were shocked. Some were disgusted that the former “Mickey Mouse Club” star would even think that performing with a strap-on in front of children was okay. Others defended the “Your Body” songstress saying these things always happen at Pride festivals and that parents are responsible for where they take their kids to.

Despite being an all-ages event, there’s still so far no confirmation whether some members of the audience were actually underage. Neither Christina nor the event organisers have said anything regarding the issue. What do you think of the singer’s controversial outfit? Do you think she’s gone too far?
