The Chinese New Year is just right around the corner, and you know what that means. It’s the time for family reunions as Malaysians rise to new heights for a hopeful 2022!
So, if you’re looking for an activity that the whole family can participate in, look no further. All hands on deck, from children to adult, can sit down together in the living room and build LEGO® sets together.
In accordance with Chinese New Year this 2022, LEGO® has released three festive sets of LEGO® for the family to spend more time together building. The sets will also give the chance for younger generations in the family to learn more on their cultural heritage and the stories behind the celebrations. There’s the LEGO® Lunar New Year Traditions, LEGO® Lunar New Year Ice Festival, and the LEGO® Majestic Tiger set.
For the LEGO® Lunar New Year Traditions, up to 6 persons can be included in the building process as there are 6 scenes in the set to be built respectively and combined later on. The detail-oriented scenes of traditions comprises from visiting family members and exchanging red packets, to Spring Festival shopping and putting up auspicious decorations.
The LEGO® Lunar New Year Ice Festival is a set that shows children enjoying various winter activities during the Chinese New Year. The set will feature a very intricate and beautiful crystal-like ice centrepiece along with the scenes of the minifigures enjoying ice activities. The scenes include ice skating on the lake, sledding with penguins, playing ice hockey, and taking photos in the pavilion. There’s also a surprise tiger minifigure included in the set marking 2022 as the year of the tiger!
Last but not least, our favourite and most versatile set out of them all: the LEGO® Majestic Tiger set to celebrate the year of the tiger. Wanna know what’s the best part of this set? Not only that you can build a majestic tiger out of it, but it can also be rebuild into two other different animals. How awesome is that? The first animal it can be rebuilt into is a Red Panda that sleeps and munches on bamboo, and a koi fish that swims through lakes. And, if you’re imaginative enough, you might even be able to build it into another animal!

If you’re thinking of bringing presents for the children when you go back for the reunion, try considering the LEGO® Fire Rescue and Police Chase where they can immerse themselves in an action-packed roleplay; or LEGO® Friends Street Food Festival where it’s a more chill roleplay setting. They could imagine being a street food vendor that sells either tacos, juice or ramen.
So, why dry your brain juice out trying to figure out activities for the family reunion when you have LEGO® in town to help you out? Get your respective LEGO® sets from your nearest toy stores today!
The LEGO® Group is also partnering with Astro for shopper events in the main concourse at Queensbay Mall in Penang and AEON Mall Tebrau City in Johor Bahru on 15th and 16th January 2022, as well as the V Boulevard at Sunway Velocity in Kuala Lumpur on 22nd and 23rd January 2022 between 10am and 10pm.
