With over 14 years of experience under his belt, the 49-year-old has dedicated his life to preserving this ancient craft.
“All the wau’’s you see on display at Intermark Mall can be flown, and it took me approximately 3,200 hours to complete,” Razi Said was quoted as saying. “The wau is a Malaysian symbol – it is featured on our 50sen coin, our national airline Malaysia Airlines’ logo is inspired by Wau Kucing, but yet not many people know the rich history and culture of the wau.”
He added, “I’m proud to be working with Intermark Mall to shine the spotlight on Malaysia’s iconic art forms, and giving me a platform to educate Malaysians and expats alike on the rich heritage and tradition of the wau.
