Covid-19 is getting in the way of EVERYTHING. Literally, every single thing. Whether it be working at the office or going down to the grocery store, we simply cannot do it without a mask, a metre and some sanitiser in check.
As we cannot even do the most mundane individual tasks from our usual routine, going all out and having a large gathering is out of the question.

Even weddings – that come with all the kissing, touching and hugging – is definitely a big NO. The celebration of love has got to wait, because Covid-19 isn’t waiting for anybody.
The Covid-19 pandemic spares no one, and that includes many celeb couples who have also had to postpone their wedding ceremony due to the ongoing crisis. Here’s a list of these celebs who have had to say “Wait” instead of “I do” this 2020:
1. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

The “Teenage Dream” star and her baby daddy, Orlando Bloom, dreamed of tying the knot at a destination wedding this April. The duo announced their engagement in February 2019 and planned to exchange vows in December 2019. However, US Weekly reported that the prior date had been postponed to a later date “due to the location they wanted”. The “Roar” singer and “Lord of the Rings” actor are said to have planned both a local and destination wedding.
2. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez

The award winning singer and former baseball player were supposed to tie the knot earlier this year. However, J.Lo told Ellen Degeneres during a virtual chat that the couple weren’t sure about dates and found themselves “in a holding pattern like the rest of the world”.
The pop star also added, “So, again, it’s something we’re just going to have to wait and see in a few months how this all pans out.” Harper’s Bazaar reported that the pair have postponed the wedding indefinitely but look forward to their dream wedding in Italy.
3. Jenny Slate and Ben Shattuck

The “Venom” actress and her fiancé had planned to hold their wedding ceremony in June this year. However, the wedding had to be postponed due to the risks related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Once you get engaged, I mean, I was like, ‘OK, and soon I’ll get married.’ But actually, what happened was a pandemic happened,” explained Slate when appearing on the “Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon”. She also explained the surprise she felt due to the sudden pandemic, adding, “We postponed the wedding, which is, like, not anything I ever saw coming.”
4. Emma Stone and Dave McCary

The Oscar winner and the “Saturday Night Live” segment director announced their engagement in December 2019. While they were planning to hold a wedding ceremony later in spring, it has been speculated that the pair secretly got married mid-pandemic.
It seems that the couple did not want to let the virus stop their union and went ahead with it anyway. However, Stone and McCary have not given a confirmation about their marriage as yet and we are waiting to see if the “La La Land” star will hold a grand celebration soon.
5. Lala Kent and Randall Emmett

“The Irishman” producer proposed to the “Vanderpump Rules” star at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in September 2018. However, their wedding had to undergo multiple postponements due to the relentless spread of the Covid-19 virus. The couple was first set to exchange vows in April 2020, but recently announced that they have pushed the date to July 2021. Emmett told US Weekly that the pair is currently “working on” conceiving a child as well.
It’s tough having to wait to get married to the one you love during such unprecedented and uncertain times. No one really knows when this will all end, but we hope that the world will soon break the Covid-19 chain together.
We can’t wait to see these celebrity love birds on their wedding day and hope they have a happy future together in the years to come.
Love can break all barriers and survive a pandemic!
