Great news, Airbnb and BookXcess have teamed up and is now offering book lovers a “novel” opportunity at winning an in-store sleepover.
For the first time, one lucky winner and a friend will have an exclusive chance to spend the night at Malaysia’s biggest bookstore from 29th to 30th September. Find out what happens after dark and sleep amongst the half a million books housed in BookXcess’ latest outlet at Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya.
To enter, visit the contest page and describe in 50 words or less what is your favourite book (genre and title) to bring when you travel and why. Share your story by 11:59pm on 20th September 2018 and let your love of books take you on a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Forget Bedtime!
Spend the weekend at this bookstore and learn about its operations throughout an exclusive store tour. The excitement doesn’t stop there. Guests will be given an exclusive behind the scenes on how to run a bookstore. There, they can live out their bookworm dreams as they work the register, learn how to pick books for the store and interact with customers.
There will also be a late-night book club hosted by BFM89.9’s Umapagan Ampikaipakan to discuss on books that are well suited for travelling inspirations. The best part of it all? The lucky winners will get to take part in a “Grab-&-Go” session. In 2 minutes, they get to “grab” as many books as possible and keep them for free! As an added bonus, they will be going on an Airbnb Experience the next day.
Be sure to note the house rules!
- No chewing on books unless you are a bookworm
- No loud music that might disturb others, have some “shelf”-awareness
- Do not attempt to stack the books into a fort. We have a bedroom for you.
- If you see any dragons, do not disturb them, it’s just your imagination.
- Do not judge a bookstore by its cover. As there are no bathing facilities at BookXcess, there will be an Airbnb for the winners to freshen up.

- The winners will be chosen entirely on merit, based on 2 judging criteria:
70% – Originality and creativity of the submitted story. Does it surprise and delight us?
30% – Spirit of the submission. How does your submission relate to BookXcess and Airbnb?
