Tina, also known as Mama Grimmie, has sadly passed away.
The mother of the late Christina Grimmie died after a long battle with breast cancer. Many of you may remember that the 22-year-old slain pop singer was shot and killed on 10th June 2016 by a deranged fan during an autograph signing session.
“While this is a bittersweet moment for us as a family, particularly after losing Christina 2 years ago, we rejoice at the thought that Tina and Christina are united once again in the presence of our Lord and Saviour,” the Grimmie family released a statement this morning (Monday, 3rd September).
Ever since Christina tragically passed away, her loved ones have kept her fan base alive by releasing previously recorded music. A foundation was also launched in her name, and it aims at lending a helping hand to those who have lost families to gun violence or have relatives diagnosed with breast cancer.
Tina and Christina are survived by father and son duo – Bud and Marcus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Grimmie family during this difficult time :(
