Malaysian songstress Yuna has recently became the first hijab-wearing ambassador for global shampoo brand Pantene.
To commemorate the collaboration, a special short film was made which tells the inspiring journey behind Yuna’s successful story.

The film shows Yuna during her school days before she started covering herself. In the 2-minute video, Yuna was a young girl who likes to spend her time writing lyrics and daydream.
Her hobby was condemned by her teacher who sees it as a waste of time and told her that she will not have a future if she continued to do so.
Even after becoming a singer, some people even asked Yuna to take off her hijab if she wishes to be successful and go international.
“I am honoured to become Pantene’s first hijabi ambassador. I think it’s important to be inclusive because as a hijab-wearing woman, there are a lot of hair issues that we go through since we keep our hair covered the whole time,” Yuna said during the special screening of “#WanitaBesi” at GSC, Mid Valley last week.

“So it’s amazing that Pantene realised the importance of that and decided to include the hijab-wearing women and to talk about empowering other women as well.”
The video also features fitness icon Linora Low and former national diver Adeline Chin Wei Ling.
