Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, has reportedly opened up for the first time about her daughter reconnecting with Justin Bieber.
Not long after the 25-year-old singer split with The Weeknd, the former flames were spotted making out in public. While Jelena shippers are, no doubt, stoked about their reunion, not everyone is excited at the duo’s renewed romance.
According to GossipCop, the Gomez family – particularly Teefey – is “not happy” with Gomez and Bieber’s reconciliation. However, Teefey maintains that she will not interfere with Gomez’s life and adds that “Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy”.
“She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices,” Teefey was quoted as saying.

She went on to say, “Every mother and daughter has disagreements. We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor.”
As of right now, it is believed that Gomez and Teefey are still not on talking terms. Teefey also admitted that she hasn’t spoken to or texted Bieber in “years”.
