Warning: spoiler alert!
Like every other “Star Wars” fan, we’ve been waiting with bated breaths for the release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi“, the 2nd film in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy. We’ve seen the trailer and now we’re just gobbling up every morsel of hint and teaser that we can find.
“Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order,” reads the description on Google. And that’s perhaps one of the biggest questions since “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” 2 years ago – who is Rey (played by Daisy Ridley)? Where did she get her powers from? Why did Luke Skywalker‘s lightsaber call out to her? What is her parentage?
Actor Adam Driver, who plays Kylo Ren in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy, may or may not have revealed a major spoiler for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” in his GQ interview recently. In speaking about Daisy Ridley’s character, Adam said, “You have, also, the hidden identity of this princess who’s hiding who she really is so she can survive and Kylo Ren and her hiding behind these artifices.”
Did you get that? He said princess. Wait, did Adam just reveal Rey’s royal origins? But who could her parents be? An Organa? A Skywalker? Did he actually mean a literal princess or was it just a figure of speech to mess with our heads?
We’ll only really find out when the film is released, eh?
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on 15th December 2017.
