In January 2008, Heath Ledger died from an accidental intoxication from prescription drugs. Needless to say, the sudden news shocked Hollywood to the core.
In memory of the outstanding Australian actor, Spike TV will be releasing a documentary titled “I Am Heath Ledger” next month. The trailer for the documentary was dropped on Wednesday (5th April).
Directed by Derik Murray, the 90-minute film explores Ledger’s life and journey through the lens of his own camera and it features never-before-seen home footages of the actor. Besides that, the documentary includes sit down interviews with some of the actors friends, family members, and co-workers. This includes his sister Kate Ledger, Ben Mendelsohn, Naomi Watts, director Ang Lee, and Ben Harper.
In the trailer, Leger’s former lover and fashion model Christina Cauchi can be heard saying, “There were always cameras around — a video camera or a Polaroid camera or the film camera. That’s the only way I think of him. With the camera in the hand.”
