It’s every fan’s dream to be recognised by their idol, and BTS‘ Jungkook has proven himself to be a successful fan.
In January, the maknae released a short snippet of himself on Twitter singing the hit song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez. It garnered rave reviews from fans, and the tweet was even liked by the original singer himself!
Fans have been badgering Jungkook for a full version of the track, which he surprised fans with last night (Monday, 27th February).
The track was uploaded on BTS’ official YouTube channel and has garnered more than 1 million views as of time of writing. Although fans were speculating that Jungkook might have invited a female singer to cover Gomez’s part, he proved them wrong by providing the vocals for the entire song.
His vocals suit the pensive mood of the track, and we’re not surprised that it gained this much attention. It seems like Puth agrees with the public’s sentiments, as he retweeted the track with a short message, albeit with a typo on Jungkook’s name.

Maybe we’ll be looking at a Charlie Puth and Jungkook collaboration soon? 😉

BTS debuted in 2013 and recently made their comeback with “Spring Day” and the follow-up track “Not Today“. They managed to break YouTube records with both tracks, as “Spring Day” reached over 9 million views in 24 hours, the fastest for any K-Pop release. A week later, “Not Today” managed to gain more than 10 million views in 24 hours, thus breaking their own record.
