Armies (as fans of Bangtan Boys/BTS are lovingly known as), get your cash ready because your favourite boy group is going to release a new album!
Just today (Wednesday, 11th January), a Korean news outlet reported that BTS will be making their return to the music scene by releasing a new album. The rumour was then confirmed by the group’s label, Big Hit Entertainment.
According to the report, the idol group has already started working on the album, which is an extension to their 2nd full album “WINGS” and is slated for release next month. In talking to news outlet Ilgan Sports, a source within the company also confirmed that it will be a repackage album of “WINGS” and it will indeed drop in February.
However, the exact release date hasn’t been decided, and it is also unsure if the group will be going on music shows to promote their upcoming album.
The full statement reads:
“It’s true that BTS is currently preparing with the goal of a comeback in February, but nothing has yet been confirmed…They are still discussing what type of release they will put out. No time period for a release has been set.”
“WINGS” was released in October and contained a total of 15 tracks, with each member getting a solo track for themselves. It produced the hit track, “Blood, Sweat, Tears” and charted on the Billboard 200 at number 26, which makes it the highest charting and best selling K-Pop album on the chart.
